Cognition Based Business Strategy
We do strategy at multiple levels:
- At an organizational level, we advise enterprises on how to put cognition at the core of everything they do, how to derive value for themselves and deliver value to their customers. This work spans products, sales, marketing, human resources and other organizations.
- The second level of our strategy work is at the division or product level. The challenge at this level is in product management and engineering. Due to a lot of hype about AI it is hard to know what’s feasible in the near term at the engineering level and what’s not. Product marketing finds it hard to define new AI based features because they are not a direct evolution of the features in the previous version. A new way of thinking is needed to add intelligence to products. Furthermore, conventional product development processes cannot work well for AI enabled products.
- One of the main processes for web application development involves product management creating wire-frames for the application. Engineering takes the wire-frames and implements the functionality behind them. Now imagine you are developing a new chat bot application, there is very little in wire-frame UI, most of the requirements are in how the conversation should happen between the bot and the user.
